We’re seeing some softening of sales at the very top-end/luxury marketplace, with some price reductions and extended “days on market”. Will it trickle down to more modestly priced (relative term) home sales?

Is this seasonality, or a longer-term trend? Only time will tell, but it should make potential sellers who have been sitting on the fence pay closer attention going forward. Spring 2016 may in fact be the time to sell before further market corrections take place.

For buyers, there are currently some bargains (again, relative term) as there are some sellers who wish to close escrow before the end of the year. They are listening to all offers.

Please scroll down for details on San Francisco and Peninsula markets.

There is also some great info on Women’s Earnings and where California sits amongst the rest of the country. You may be surprised.

Some municipalities have seen a bit of cooling off. “Days on Market” and “Available Units” are on the rise while sales prices are leveling off.
